PreVision Corp is working towards a world where users of its technology can see the world around them in full immersive real-time 3D, just like video gamers do today. The company is doing this by building world models with unmanned aircraft systems carrying its technology called, Live Imagery Maps In Time (LIMIT). Recently, its advanced products laboratory, Transparent Sky, received a $1 million Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program contract from the National Geospatial Agency (NGA) to help the company improve its ability to detect changes within their 3D reconstructions. This effort complements other development contracts that focus on speeding up 3D reconstructions, so the images can be viewed in real-time.
Steve Suddarth, Co-Founder of PreVision says, “Change detection where you compare a scene captured now to one captured in the past requires that we render the image exquisitely as any minuscule error between the models will show up as a change.” PreVision Co-Founder, Greg Walker believes the NGA funding will increase market opportunities for the company as the improvements will enable customers working in the security space to more accurately monitor situations as they unfold so they can make better decisions. Walker says, “Thanks to this SBIR, PreVision is on track to improve the 3D models that are generated from our fast 3D rendering engine. This will open up even more market opportunities for our technology, markets that today are only imagined by our competitors.” PreVision Corp has been in the spotlight recently as the company won first place at the AUVSI Startup Showdown event in Chicago last month. The company also presented in Montreal, Canada last month in front of partners of the Starburst Accelerator. Most notably, PreVision Corp is a GENIUS NY 2018 finalist and received a $250,000 investment. GENIUS NY is the world’s largest business accelerator competition for unmanned systems and invests $3 million into five technology startups each year.
