GENIUS NY, a business accelerator program at CenterState CEO’s Tech Garden, announced today the 15 semi-finalist teams in the competition’s third round. The companies, which are developing innovations in the unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) industry, were selected from a highly-competitive pool of more than 350 submissions to compete for $3 million in investments. Of the 15 semi-finalists, three are international teams representing Italy and Israel. Additionally, three businesses are women-owned and two minority-owned. Last month GENIUS NY joined swissnex Boston during Boston's HUBWeek for a showcase on all things drones called Aerial Futures: The Drone Frontier. HUBWeek is dedicated to showcasing and celebrating innovations at the intersection of art, science and technology.
CustomWeather, Inc., a premier, specialized provider of high-resolution weather data and alert services, announced today that it has entered into a partnership with TruWeather Solutions, LLC to produce unique, high resolution forecasts to support UAS (Unmanned Aircraft System). UAS require close attention to weather conditions, particularly wind, temperature, and severe weather for mission planning and execution.
