Applications for Round 7 NOW OPEN
 AutoModality, Inc. (GENIUS NY grand prize winner) recently announced that SkyFund, backed by Accel and DJI, has invested in the company. AutoModality and DJI will partner in the development of high value-add enterprise solutions in the infrastructure and utilities markets. DJI is partnering with AutoModality to utilize its proprietary capabilities to enhance the value and capacity of its drone platform.
10/17/2017 CIO from Aurora Flight Sciences Meets with GENIUS NY Teams about Aeronautics and Startups Last week GENIUS NY teams met and networked with John Tylko, Chief Innovation Officer of Aurora Flight Sciences Corporation. John spent the day with the teams talking about his experience in the industry and met one-on-one to learn more about their businesses and to help connect them with industry partners.
On the heels of GENIUS NY’s round 1 success, the program is seeing ongoing interest from companies across the globe as it closes its application period for a second round of funding. GENIUS NY received more than 250 submissions for next year’s competition and has gained stronger brand awareness in the global unmanned aerial systems (UAS) community. Several applicants reapplied this year; many are from out of state; and a few are from across the globe, including India and Australia. There was also an increase in women-owned businesses.
