GENIUS NY 3.0 Accepting Applications until October 1, 2018
GENIUS NY – one of the world’s largest business competitions focused on unmanned systems – is accepting applications for the third round of the year-long business accelerator. The program will invest $3 million in six finalist companies, including three grand prizes valued at up to $1 million, $600,000 and $400,000. A weather startup is creating jobs in Central and Upstate New York, and partnering with University at Albany to get better forecasts for drone operators. TruWeather Solutions LLC, uses technology to cut costs for weather-sensitive businesses, such as drone, trucking and other logistics companies, as well as government agencies. Governor Andrew M. Cuomo recently announced that applications are now open for the third round of GENIUS NY-- the world's largest business competition focused on unmanned systems. Building on regional industry strengths and emerging opportunities, the business competition targets companies in the unmanned aerial, ground, and marine systems and cross-connected platforms sectors. The six finalists of the year-long residency will receive more than $5 million in investment in the unmanned systems sector. The application period will run until October 1, 2018.
