Akrobotix adds Dr. Morad Nazari as Director of Research and Development. Nazari’s experience will help Akrobotix expand their business into the aerospace industry. Nazari brings his vast background in Aerospace Engineering to the Akrobotix team. As Assistant Professor of Aerospace Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, FL, he has been responsible for conducting research in the area of spacecraft guidance, navigation and control as well as teaching several classes in the field. From 2014-2017, Nazari was a research associate in the department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Arizona. There, he led an 8-member research team, and in addition to several other research areas, developed different nonlinear controls based on realistic assumptions for space vehicles to improve performance while saving fuel costs. He has authored/co-authored more than 16 journal articles and 32 conference papers. He has reviewed more than 35 journals and conferences and has been selected as excellent reviewer for Journal of Guidance, Control and Dynamics for two successive years: 2016-2018. Nazari has chaired sessions at conferences and symposiums including the 1st IAA Space Situational Awareness Conference (2017) and American Control Conference (2018).
